AJ Perez MMK Episode and Other ABS-CBN Holy Week Programs Set to Inspire Filipinos

ABS-CBN airs some of its heartwarming specials, dramas and Star Cinema movies and best documentaries on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

Begin the solemn journey by catching the "Mga Kuwento Sa Lupang Pangako," which was produced by Jesuit Communications Foundation. This special features two documentaries "Sa Mga Yapak Ni Hesus," and "Ang Makabagong Disipilo" that were both shot in Israel.

"Sa Mga Yapak Ni Hesus" follows a group of Filipino pilgrims who come to experience the Holy Land, with the help of their pilgrimage master Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio "Chito" Tagle. Instead of dwelling on the passion and death of a vanquished Christ, Tagle leads them to a deeper understanding of the triumph and joy of the risen Christ, and the impact on their futures.

This special will be narrated by veteran broadcast journalist Cheche Lazaro. "Sa Mga Yapak Ni Hesus" airs Maundy Thursday at 12 p.m.

"Ang Makabagong Disipulo," meanwhile, is an up-close and personal look at the newly installed Archbishop of Manila. This documentary, hosted by ABS-CBN anchor Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo, takes a deeper look into this remarkable man on a mission. It begins as Tagle is about to make his first pilgrimage to the Holy Land a few weeks before his installation. It follows him on this bittersweet journey, fraught with apprehensions and anxieties, and it watches how he comes to Jesus in the very land that He was born in and died. "Ang Makabagong Disipulo" airs Good Friday at 5 p.m.

ABS-CBN will also air some of Catholic Church's significant observations this Lenten Season such as the "Lenten Recollection" on April 5, 3:30 p.m., "Celebration of the Lord's Supper" on April 5, 1:30 p.m. On Good Friday, join the country in hearing Jesus' "7 Last Words" at 3 p.m. that will be followed by the "Veneration of the Cross" at 4 p.m. Also, welcome Easter with a pure heart by participating in the televised "Easter Vigil" which will air on Black Saturday at 11:30 p.m.

News reporters Apples Jalandoni and Pia Gutierrez will explore the world of faith healing as they report on the miracles of healing Catholic priests and devotees who patronize them in a special Lenten documentary in "Patrol ng Pilipino" on April 6, 10:30 p.m.

The report features Father Efren 'Momoy' Borromeo, who is said to accurately detect the diseases of people who consult him, much like the MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine used in clinical practice.
Jalandoni will attend the "healing Masses" of the well-known Father Joey Faller who sometimes travels to different countries to reach patients who wait for miracles to cure them.

Also to be featured in the documentary are stories of people who have received God's healing grace through Father Momoy and Father Joey, who cure all sorts of illnesses such as cancer, Alzheimer's disease, hiatus hernia, and tumors.
